In the seminar, students of Independent Business School (IBS) presented their ideas regarding new products. Six different new products were developed under six different groups and each group had to develop product idea, market/promote the product and evolve specific campaign strategies for the product.
Sidratul Muntaha and her team developed the idea for “Green Mart”, a new organic superstore for Chittagong; Hellal Uddin and his team developed the idea of a new bridal wear shop for Chittagong with the name “Expression”; Sanjida Aman and her team developed the idea of a new office furniture shop with special emphasis online; Iqbal Mahmud and his team developed the idea of a new fish and chips store in Chittagong under the name “Criticious”, Sheikh Ali Haider and his team developed the idea for handicraft store for upscale consumers, and Auzu Sherrin Oishi’s team developed the idea for a new cheese and cake shop in Chittagong.
All these groups had to make presentation on developing the product idea, identifying a location for the store, developing an interior for the store, and identifying various items within the product and pricing of the products. Apart from these each group had to develop a unique name and the logo for the brand. Moreover the groups had to explain the target market for the brand and also show the positioning strategy.
Sheikh Ali Haider’s team received the best idea award. The whole event was under overall supervision of Dr. Mahmud Hassan, Associate Professor of the university.
