Policy for Recognition of Semester Performance (Based on Semester Results)

A full-time student will be placed in the five Honour Lists based on the following conditions for each semester:

Name of Honour List	Proposed Criteria for CIU
1) Dean’s List	For attaining a GPA of 3.75 or more in any regular semester with a minimun of 12 credits.
2) Dean’s Merit List	For attaining a CGPA of 3.75 or more in the second successive semester, with a minimum of 12 credits in each semester.
3) Dean’s Honour List	For attaining a CGPA of 3.80 or more in the second successive semester, with a minimum of 12 credits in each semester. (Recipients will also receive a book award of Tk. 5,000/-).
4) Vice Chancellor’s List	For attaining a CGPA of 3.85 or more in the third successive semester, with a minimum of 12 credits in each semester.
5) Vice Chancellor’s Honour List	For attaining a CGPA of 3.95 or more in the third successive semester, with a minimum of 12 credits in each semester .(Recipients will also receive a book award of Tk. 10,000/-).

Students graduating with high grades will be recognized on their certificates as follows:

a) Summa Cum Laude	For attaining a CGPA of 3.95 or more at graduation.
b) Magna Cum Laude	For attaining a CGPA of 3.86 to 3.94 at graduation.
C) Cum Laude	For attaining a CGPA of 3.80 to 3.85 at graduation.

Note: The minimum credit hour requirement will not apply for the Honour Graduation category.
