Educating for Justice: Empowering Law Graduates to Fight Human Trafficking
This seminar forms part of a national series aimed at strengthening the capacity of undergraduate law students from both public and private universities to address human trafficking through informed, victim-centered, and rights-based legal approaches. The program addressed the ongoing challenges of human trafficking in Bangladesh, despite the enactment of the Prevention and Suppression of Human Trafficking Act (PSHTA) 2012 and the establishment of Anti-Human Trafficking Offence Tribunals. Speakers highlighted gaps in implementation, victim protection, evidence collection, and the need for coordinated institutional responses, emphasizing the critical role of legal education.
